Green area is the skin of a city, also a way for the city to mark its own range.  From the classic chair designs in the modern design history, the artist concludes various elements to be combined into entirely new models and creates “plant chairs” in the green area.  Such chairs are no longer interference of different materials in the green area, but the extension of natural ecology.

Is this a part of a machine to be assembled?  Or the remains of an animal?  Or a certain new creature to be born?  Or an unidentified guest from the outer world?  In the times when action is faster than consideration and the past experiences are invalid, the uncertainty of mankind fate’s changes deeply unnerves us, and the invented image just symbolizes this status.

In the international histories of furniture and architecture, the structure of mortise and tenon joint is the most unique creation of ancient Chinese, presenting the oriental spirit of “the unity between heaven and human being”.  The artist magnifies a part of mortise and tenon joint, so that the nature outlook in Chinese ancient times could distantly correspond to urbanization process of armoured concrete.  For Zhangjiang hi-tech zone, this is an alien “plug-in”, constantly reminding us of the inner association between the digital times and the traditional spirit.
